On Thursday, September 2, 2021, around 10 o’clock at night, 21-year old Manief A. Mullins of Schenectady allegedly went on a burglary spree.

Albany Police arrested 33-year old Natural Wise Joseph on Tuesday, May 25, and charged him with several felony offenses.

The Colonie Police Department was able to apprehend one suspect involved in the incident.  On Friday they arrested 23-year old Schenectady resident, Paul A.L. Streeks.

Tragedy struck on Thursday night when a young lady was struck and killed shortly after leaving her job on Central Avenue in Colonie.

Once again officers in the Capital Region were able to confiscate drugs during a traffic stop. This time they also removed a ghost gun (a gun where the serial number is intentionally removed) off of the streets.

A man has been arrested for setting fire to two of his former employer’s trucks in Colonie on two separate occasions. A uniform rental company had the misfortune of having one of their trucks set on fire in November of 2020 and then again this month.

On Monday, January 10, an unnamed man responded to the website SkipTheGames in an attempt to obtain “escort” services.  The man met 20-year old Ava Maddalla of Scotia at the Hampton Inn & Suites, located at 45 British American Boulevard. 

Officers searched the vehicle and they found a loaded .20 Smith and Wesson handgun. None of the occupants of the vehicle had a permit to carry a gun and they all had felony convictions.

Alexander Alomar was charged with second-degree Harassment; fourth-degree Criminal Mischief; fourth-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon; and three counts of third-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon. If Mr. Alomar is convicted of all of these charges, he could spend 23 years in prison.

Wayne Samuels was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd and 3rd degrees (felony offenses); Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 2nd and 3rd degrees (misdemeanor offenses); No Front Plate and Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle (traffic offenses).

When officers searched Vazquez’s backpack, they discovered a loaded sawed-off shotgun. Officers confiscated the Stoeger 12-gauge shotgun loaded with 12 gauge shotgun shells.

A worried mom called the Colonie Police because she did not know where her 17-year-old daughter was. The mom stated that she was concerned that her daughter was at a hotel with an older man using drugs.

How in the world did a handgun that was stolen in Alabama in 2007 end up all the way in Colonie, New York? That’s one of the questions police in Colonie are trying to answer.

Brayton Whitney (37) and Leonard Pitcher were charged with one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fourth degree which are felony offenses.

Early in the morning around 7, a car struck a utility pole and split itself in half, causing one death and 3 others were critically injured.

Police have arrested a Bronx man in connection to a 'Grandparent Scam' investigation. Dude traveled to Colonie, collecting $9,000 from a local victim on September 19th.

The Town of Colonie has filed a twenty-four count violation against the Sycamore Motel and its owner of record, Suman C. Patel, for allowing the premises to be used as sub-standard long-term housing
