No one wants to ever receive news of a death, especially on Christmas day.

Unfortunately one family had to endure this news after a horrible crash in Colonie yesterday.  According to the Daily Gazzette. Early in the morning around 7, a car struck a utility pole and split itself in half, causing one death and 3 others were critically injured.  According to Colonie police, the crash was so bad that the other 3 passengers all had to have surgery.

All this happened over on Central Ave near Lisha Kill Road and Lansing Road.  The utility pole was broken due to the crash so National Grid is still out there working on it.  Colonie police say speed had to play a major part I this crash.  Think about it, it’s 7am on Central on Christmas morning – there is basically no traffic.  How could this crash have taken place?

Condolences to  family.  If anyone knows anything you are urged to call Colonie Police while they continue their investigation.
