Last weekend was very violent in the city of Albany. There were several shootings, and some of the victims did not survive their injuries. An arrest was made on Tuesday in connection with one of the murders.

According To On Friday 39-year-old LaShon Turner was shot in the torso. Mr. Turner was transported to the Albany Medical Center Hospital, but he later died of his injuries. The shooting occurred on Central Avenue, in Albany, around 6:30 p.m.

Officers with the Albany Police Department have been investigating all of the shootings, and on Tuesday they arrested a 33-year-old man from Colonie in connection to Mr. Turner’s murder.

Albany Police arrested 33-year old Natural Wise Joseph on Tuesday, May 25, and charged him with several felony offenses. Mr. Joseph was charged with second-degree murder and second-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon in connection with Mr. Turner's death.

When officers arrested Mr. Joseph he allegedly had drugs in his possession. Officers allegedly recovered a quantity of cocaine. In addition to the murder charge, he was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Mr. Joseph was virtually arraigned yesterday at the Albany Criminal Court where he entered a “not guilty“ plea.

Mr. Turner was one of seven people who were shot on the same day on the streets of Albany. Officers with the Albany Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit are investigating all of the shootings.
