Once again officers in the Capital Region were able to confiscate drugs during a traffic stop. This time they also removed a ghost gun (a gun where the serial number is intentionally removed) off of the streets.

On Saturday night around midnight officers with the Colonie Police Department made a traffic stop on Sand Creek Road because the driver committed several traffic offenses.

When officers checked 29-year old Dorrel Williams’ license, they were able to determine that he had an outstanding warrant with the City of Schenectady. The driver and his passenger were both removed from the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle revealed a .22 caliber High Standard Model 107 handgun with a defaced serial number. In addition to the gun, they recovered drug paraphernalia, marijuana, ecstasy pills, Xanax pills, and cocaine.
