A 65-year old Albany resident (Francisco Salazar) found himself in big trouble after a routine traffic stop in Latham. When officers searched his car, they recovered drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Once again officers in the Capital Region were able to confiscate drugs during a traffic stop. This time they also removed a ghost gun (a gun where the serial number is intentionally removed) off of the streets.

During the traffic stop, the officers discovered that the driver, 23-year-old Francisco Rivera had marijuana in his possession and there was a gun in the car.

Members of the Albany Police Department were able to make two separate weapons arrests in the Albany area in two separate incidents over the weekend.

On January 13th a Cohoes man was observed by a police officer driving a vehicle without wearing a seatbelt. As officers investigating the incident they discovered $2600 in cash, edible cannabis, and cannabis cartridges.
