According to News10, this morning the Bethlehem Police Department was called to the Comfort Inn in Glenmont, after someone was allegedly observed planting a recording device in one of the rooms.

Bethlehem police responded to the Comfort Inn located on 37 Rte. 9W around 2 o’clock in the morning for a suspicious condition.  The caller indicated that an employee was allegedly observed placing an image recording device under the door of one of the hotel rooms.  Ironically, that room was occupied by an unidentified female.

According to the Bethlehem Police Department, they were able to confiscate the recording device and they arrested one suspect.  The night clerk, 30-year old Bryan R. Taylor of Albany, is accused of planting a recording device underneath the door of one of the rooms.

Mr. Taylor was arrested and taken into custody.   He was charged with one count of second-degree Unlawful Surveillance (Class E Felony).  He was issued an appearance ticket and he is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, August 17.

Police fear that this is not an isolated incident.  Because Mr. Taylor worked at the hotel, and people are in and out of the hotel all of the time, they suspect that there may be more victims.

If you recently stayed at the Comfort Inn in Glenmont, or you know someone who has, you may have been an unsuspecting victim.  The Bethlehem Police Department is asking anyone who believes that they may have been a victim of this type of offense to call them at 518-439-9973
