A local credit union put their money where their mouth is, and they came up with a big donation for local healthcare workers.

Healthcare workers have been in the forefront against the COVID-19 pandemic for months now. We have all heard that healthcare workers are in need of personal protection equipment or PPE, and SEFCU stepped up to help them.

Healthcare workers are really thankful to SEFCU for their huge donation of 24,000 N95 masks. The donation was made to help workers at Albany Medical Center Hospital and Saint Peter’s Hospital.

According to News 10, Michael Castellana, the President, and CEO of SEFCU thanked the healthcare workers at the two hospitals for their selfless dedication in helping others suffering from COVID-19. He says that the donation of N95 masks were given with sincere gratitude to local healthcare heroes.

Dr. James K. Reed, President, and CEO of Saint Peter’s Health Partners thanked the credit union for the donation. He said, “As we prepare to enter the 10th month of this pandemic, it is understandable that many are feeling COVID fatigue and growing weary of the fight. But there are many more who continue to be resolute in the face of adversity and are ready to take on this latest wave of COVID cases. The entire team at SEFCU has our deepest gratitude for this most recent donation of 24,000 N95 masks to Saint Peters Hospital and Albany Medical, which will be a key tool in this ongoing battle against COVID-19 in our community“.

I would also like to take this time to thank SEFCU for their generous donation to our local hospitals. Today is giving Tuesday, and we should all try to give what we can when we can. What else do you think businesses can do to help out our first responders during this pandemic?
