Hoffman's Playland was an amusement park in Latham from 1952 until 2014. I went there almost every weekend as a kid and even got to take my son Ryan a few times before it closed. Over the weekend we had the opportunity to see a major league baseball game at a minor league ballpark. It was an amazing experience. Since the Canadian border is still closed due to the pandemic, the Toronto Blue Jays have been playing their home games at Sahlen Field which is the home of the Buffalo Bisons minor league baseball team. Good news fairgoers! It looks like we will be able to experience all of the county fairs and local festivals this summer. Although last year fairs got creative with drive-up fair food festivals, it's nice to know that we can actually go into the fairs and enjoy what they have to offer, from the deep-fried foods to the rides, and games on the midway.
