"I said no to the Superbowl, you need me, i don't need you." These are the words from a verse in the song "APESH*T" by rapper/entrepreneur Jay-Z. So can imagine the surprise when the NFL and Roc Nation announced their partnership in the Inspired Change program. According to the NFL, Inspired Change is a platform showcasing the collaborative efforts of players, owners and the league to create positive change in communities across the country. Working together with the Players, NFL teams and the league office continue to support programs that reduce barriers to opportunity; Education and economic advancement, Police and community relations and Criminal justice reform.

Some people is not excited about the partnership for rumors of Colin Kaepernick is not involved in the partnership. Kaepernick has been blackballed from the NFL, since Aug 14, 2016 when he took a knee in the fight against police brutality. When asked about Kaepernick and where do he stand in the new partnership Jay-Z said, he did speak to Kap but did not go into details about their conversation.

“We like to think that the way we build the Inspire Change platform, that if anything close to that would happen in the future, then Kaepernick would have a platform where he can express himself and maybe it doesn’t have to take place on the field.” says, Jay Z.

Neesa from Hot97, girlfriend of Colin Kaepernick, calls the partnership a disappointment and disgust. Eric Reid another player who stood behind Colin Kaepernick back in 2016, also did not like the idea of the partnership. "These aren’t mutually exclusive. They can both happen at the same time! It looks like your goal was to make millions and millions of dollars by assisting the NFL in burying Colin’s career," Reid tweets. Kaepernick haven't spoke on the issue personal but did tweet, "You never turned your back on me or the people, even when the NFL tried to silence your voice & the movement. You’ve never flinched or wavered. I love you Brother! Let’s get it! ."

The partnership is looking to kick of for the NFL 100th season. Although there is a lot of doubt surrounding the interest of the NFL and the black community, i truly think Roc Nation and Jay Z have a bigger plan further then anyone can see. "Im not a Business man, I'm a Businessman," is another famous quote from the Brookyln rapper. Jay Z still having that hustler mentally i doubt he showed all this cards to the table.
