Two More Legendary Acts Announced for Albany this Summer
What a summer it's turning out to be in the Capital Region when it comes to entertainment in downtown Albany. Hot 99.1 is teaming up with The New York State Office of General Services to add two incredible shows to the lineup at the Empire State Plaza this summer.
The Capital Concert series gets under way Wednesday nights with a series of free shows from July to August. Join Hot 99.1 for two nights at the Empire State Plaza stage for some reggae & hip hop!
On Wednesday July 20th, legendary reggae artists, aka 'the Bad Boys of Reggae', Inner Circle will perform live!
Joining Inner Circle that night will be The King Yellowman Show: featuring K'reema & The Sagittarius Band.
One week later, on Wednesday July 27th, celebrate hip hop with the first group to ever score a rap hit on the Billboard charts in 1979. Yes, the group who gave us Rapper's Delight, trailblazing the way for hip hop to go mainstream, will perform a free show at the plaza as well. The Sugarhill Gang!
Kicking off the night will be Melle Mel & Scorpio of Grandmaster Flash & The Furious5.
Grab a spot on the museum steps or make your way as close to the stage as you can for two unforgettable FREE nights of music here in the Capital Region.
