Another Capital Region summer favorite is back! Between the food trucks and the farmers market, there’s already lots of lunchtime buzz returning to downtown Albany’s post-lockdown life, and now we can add live music to the list. Empire State Plaza Events released the 2022 schedule for the Lunchtime at the Plaza Music Series on their Facebook page.

Starting June 8 and running for eight weeks through July 27, live bands and solo artists representing a wide spectrum of genres will play the Empire State Plaza every Wednesday. Concerts are 90 minutes long, running from noon to 1:30p. The only week not featuring an artist will be Independence Day week, with Starship scheduled to perform at the 46th Empire State Fourth of July Celebration. Lunchtime acts range from country to classic rock covers.

June 8: Tia Victoria

June 15: Erin Harkes

June 22: TBA

June 29: Gone Gray Band

July 13: Toussaint Santacola Jones

July 20: The Real Four

July 27: Chris Dukes

Admission to the concerts, like the food truck lot and farmers market, is free. The series is sponsored by M&T Bank.

As another part of Summer at the Plaza, Fitness at the Plaza is now ongoing through August 25. Tuesdays feature Zumba between Buildings 2 and 3 and Thursdays showcase yoga. All Fitness at the Plaza classes start at 5p and last an hour. Classes are given at no charge, but towels and exercise mats will not be provided and must be brought from home. Anyone wanting to participate can pre-register on the Empire State Plaza’s website.

5/11/22 - Now that the Capital Region is cracking 80 degrees, you may be wanting to grab lunch outside. If you're in the mood for something new, more options, or for your favorite food truck, Empire State Plaza and Harriman Campus have officially launched their seasonal food truck markets.

The Plaza will open for food trucks Monday through Friday, 11a until 2p for the season. The Empire State Plaza Farmers Market also returns for 2022 every Wednesday from 10a until 2p.
