Thanksgiving With Capital Region’s Equinox
Thanksgiving will be celebrated this year on Thursday, November 28.
Each year the Capital Region's Equinox program goes above in beyond in ensuring the community they serve does not go with out a Thanksgiving meal. Each year with the help of the more than 3,000 volunteers in the program is able to prepare and give out more than 9,500 meals plus to people in the community who live within a 40-mile radius.
I remember a few years ago my first time volunteering with Equinox for their Thanksgiving run and it was such a great experience and just to know that you are helping someone out during the holidays is a great feeling. Both years I helped out I remember them placing us in meal prep groups which included , peeling potatoes, shucking corn, pulling turkey, making gravy etc. My job both years was peeling potatoes and we peeled a lot of potatoes that year but we also had a lot of helping hands.
If you are interested in volunteering this year or need help with your Thanksgiving meal here is how to go about that through Equinox.
