The Governor can’t catch a break. Everyone is up in arms about this but personally I wasn’t offended. He clearly used it while quoting a newspaper article, it’s not like he was throwing the word out there calling people names. The sensitivity of the matter is well warranted when the N-word is used in a derogatory fashion, but come on, that’s not what he was doing here.

According to News 10, Cuomo was quoting a New York Times editorial about racist language once used to describe Italian immigrants. “They used an expression, that Southern Italians were called, I believe they were saying Southern Italian Sicilians, were called quote on quote, and pardon my language, but I'm just quoting the Times, n***** wops, n-word wops, as a derogatory comment, he said.

Okay so Italian immigrants were called names, who wasn’t called a name back then?! But let’s not compare that to any type of oppression that black folks have suffered over the years. I think that’s what he was trying to get at, but ummmm NO SIR. Of course, his office had no comment.

Are you offended by the Governors use of the N-word?
