Huge win for Bronx very own Jharrel Jerome. The 21-year old is the youngest Emmy winner, and first Afro-Latino to take home the leading actor role in a limited series, via nydailynews. Jharrel plays, Kory Wise in the Netflix series "When They See Us," the terrifying but yet remarkable story about the exonerated Central Park five.

"When They See Us" is about Five young teen boys; Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana, and Korey Wise. Who was wrongly convicted of raping a woman jogging in Central Park - charges as adults. All boys served up to 5 years or more. Korey Wise, who just went to support his friend Yusef at the precinct ends up serving the most time of 12 years. Years after most of the boys turned men was free, except Korey Wise, the real killer, Matias Reyes, came forward to confess to the Central Park rape as well as other unsolved cases. Exonerating all five men, after their convictions were formally vacated, the five Central Park men filed a civil suit against the city, which settled in 2014 for a reported $41 million, via people.com.
