Queen Latifah Cast as Ursula in The Little Mermaid Musical

Legendary icon Queen Latifah as been announced via Instagram, as Ursula in the upcoming musical, The Little Mermaid. according to USA Today, ABC Live plans for a live musical version of the 1989 Disney film, set to air Nov. 5 with Auli'l Cravalho ("Moana") as Ariel, Queen Latifah as Ursula the sea witch and Shaggy as Sebastian the crab. This is totally separate from the live action movie "The Little Mermaid"  starring Grown-ish star Halle Bailey. Back in 2017, plans of the project was canceled due to the high cost of $25 million. But it is now happening Nov.5, 8pm, on ABC with all original music from Hans Christian Andersen story, on the 30th anniversary. Musical performances from both the movie and the Broadway stage version on new sets with extended versions of about 10 songs will be performed live against a projection backdrop of the movie.
