New Craft Beer Competition Coming in This Year’s New York State Fair!
Some exciting news to look forward to for beer lovers in the Capital Region!
A new competition is coming to town for the annual New York State Fair this year. On Monday (June 19), Governor Cuomo announced that there will be a professionally judged craft beer competition held during this year’s State Fair in Syracuse, NY in efforts to support the state booming craft beverage industry. The Great State Fair will be kicking off on August 23rd and concluding on September 4th.
There hasn’t been too much detail on what we can expect in this new beer competition but according to NEWS10 there will be 20 categories in which the best beers will be chosen! The winners (the highest scoring beers) in each category will be awarded the Governor’s Excelsior Cup. Brewers are allowed to enter as many different beers as they please and each beer entry is $45.
