Kendall Jenner's recent Pepsi ad, which seems to invoke the Black Lives Matter Movement, is being bashed around the world for its utter insensitivity and tone-deafness.

In the ad, the model abandons her glamorous photo shoot, joins a group of animated protestors and... offers a Pepsi to a stern police officer, who accepts with a smile, thus saving the day. With a can of Pepsi. Because, you know, years of police violence against Black people and systemic oppression would totally be solved if only Kendall Jenner could just get close enough to the action to hand a cop a Pepsi! After the cop sips the Pepsi, Kendall rejoins the protestors and everyone cheers in apparent victory.

Of course, the reaction to the ad was swift and brutal. To make matters even worse, the ad dropped on the anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination. Following the heated backlash, Pepsi offered a statement about the ad, which was created by Pepsi's in-house content team, Creative League Studios.

“This is a global ad that reflects people from different walks of life coming together in a spirit of harmony, and we think that’s an important message to convey,” Pepsi's statement reads, as reported by Fader.

Not surprisingly, Twitter wasn't feeling Pepsi's "spirit of harmony" at all. Check out some of the responses below.
