#FlavaInYourEar: Jussie Smollet Recoverary Update
On January 29, 2019 “Empire” star Jussie Smollet was brutal beaten by two unidentified men in mask in Chicago. Its reported from TMZ, Smollet was walking back from getting food from a nearby Subway about 2 am, when he was attacked by two men wearing mask. The Empire star was brutally beaten, poured bleached on, and a noose tied around his neck, during the beating his attackers yelled “This MAGA Country” as well as other racist and homophobic slugs, according to sources from TMZ. Chicago police have pulled nearby video surveillance from streets and the around the apartment building searching for suspects. There’s a video showing Jussie returning to his apartment with a rope around this neck, source from the building say Jussie did not report to security about the attack, but did drive himself to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi announced, police are also going to stores to ask employees if they recall selling rope to anyone and to determine if security camera footage shows someone buying the kind of rope that was tied noose-like around Smollet’s neck, reported from USA Today. No arrested have been made yet.
Many celebrities spoke up in support of Jussie Smollet, including Donald Trump stating "I think thats horrible, it doesn't get worst." Taraji P. Henson, who plays Jussie mother in "Empire" send nothing but prayer to her co-star. On Saturday The actor and singer gave a previously schedule concert at Troubadour in West Hollywood. A teary eyed and emotional Jussie spoke to his audience,
"My body is strong but my soul is stronger" ... "These type of cowardly attacks are happening to my sisters, brothers, and non-genders, conforming siblings daily."
Jussie is fully cooperarting with Chicago police, we’re all hoping the people and those like them are out to justice.
