Mechanical issues delayed the opening of Central Park Pool for several days. Good news, Schenectady peeps! Now, you’re free to put on your trunks and take a dip. The pool opened earlier today. Central Park Pool is open Monday – Friday 12:30pm – 6:00pm and 1pm – 6pm on Saturdays & Sundays.

A terrible tragedy happened early this morning on Hulett Street in Schenectady. A house fire claimed four lives. Three of the four victims were young children. A fourth child was pulled from the building and is currently hospitalized at the Westchester Medical Center burn unit.

Tamerlan Tsarvaev, one of the Boston Marathon Bombing suspects was killed last night. His 19 year old brother is still at large. Police are executing an enormous man-hunt to track down the alleged bomber.

Monday’s bombing in Boston was a tragic event. Unfortunately, sometimes it takes tragedy to bring a nation together. Although the historic city is hundreds of miles away, the Capital Region has united to help our neighbors to the east heal. One example of this is an event happening in Saratoga Springs at 5:30pm on Thursday.

Three punk a$$es allegedly ganked a donation jar from Crossgates Mall.  The jar had around $300 and was supposed to go to the Children’s Hospital.  The theft occurred at Hannoush Jewelers around 6pm on Friday.
