NY Tolls Are Going Cashless By The End Of 2020
Cashless tolling is on the way and the New York State Thruway will have all cashless tolls by the end of this year.
According to News 13, this isa $355 million project to bring 70 cashless tolling and will be finished by the end of 2020. This means there will be no cash tolls at all on the thruway or any of the NY highways or roads. If you don't plan on getting EZ Pass like me you will be billed by mail.
“Cashless tolling will have a tremendous impact on the region’s economy as the drivers who rely on our roadway each and every day will be able to get home quicker, easier and to other destinations making it more efficient,” said Matthew Driscoll, Executive Director of the New York State Thruway Authority.
I disagree, cashless tolls make people lose jobs and I enjoy stopping at tolls to take a break on long drives. Also if you need directions or information the toll operators are very useful. How do you feel about cashless tolling do you think it benefits the state or drivers?
