New York State Police Find 400 Pounds Of THC Edibles During Traffic Stop
The New York State Police made a big drug bust yesterday on a New York Thruway in the town of Schuyler. Once again a traffic stop has led to another New Yorker being arrested on drug charges.
A traffic violation, around 1 p.m. yesterday, on I-90 in Schuyler, led to a Hudson man being charged with Felony drug offenses.
According to News10, When New York state troopers stopped 21-year old Lindsay L. Miranda for traffic violations, they had no way of knowing that he was transporting a lot of drugs and cash.
The troopers have not said what led them to search the vehicle, but they evidently found a reason to make the search. When they did, they found 400 pounds of edibles that were loaded with marijuana and THC. That’s not all they found, they found approximately $8000 in cash and 2 pounds of marijuana.
Law-enforcement officials said that Mr. Miranda was arrested and charged with second-degree Criminal Possession of Marijuana (Felony). He was processed at the State Police Station in Schuyler and he was then arraigned in the Town of Schuyler Court. He was released on his own recognizance.
It’s never a good idea to drive around recklessly on the Thruway. It’s an even worse idea to drive around recklessly when you know that you are transporting a whole lot of drugs and cash. Mr. Miranda is still a young man right now, so he is still learning how to keep himself out of trouble. Hopefully, he’s learned a lesson before he spends unnecessary time in jail.
