The Albany Police Department has announced that they are recruiting for the position of Police Officer.  A written examination for candidates to become polices
will be held on May 15, but the last day to file for employment is Monday, April 12, no later than 11:59 p.m.

A career as a police officer can be exciting, challenging, and financially lucrative.  Working for the city has a lot of benefits and the starting salary is $46,030 and it jumps up to $53,354 once you graduate from the Academy.

Candidates must be at least 19 years old before the test date, they must live in Albany City and the must have a high school diploma.

We can’t all serve others in a law enforcement capacity, but this is a great opportunity to serve and empower our community.  Become a change agent and alter the stigma that plagues the Black community. Throughout the year there have been studies done that show the Albany Police department is in desperate need of diversity.
