Lil Uzi Vert Scores His First Platinum Single

Lil Uzi Vert's glow-up has been such that it was only a matter of time before an RIAA certification truly reflected his status as a burgeoning rap superstar. Recently, that inevitability came to pass when Uzi's "You Was Right" was finally certified platinum.

The Metro Boomin-produced banger, which appears on Uzi's Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World, features just about everything that makes the rising star such a good listen. There's the melody, the lackadaisical delivery and Uzi's typical confidence dripping all over the hypnotic instrumental. Like we said, it was only a matter of time before he got his first platinum single.

Although Uzi dropped an official video for the track back in October, an artist by the name of Some Hoodlum saw fit to make an animated visual for Uzi's hit record. The new music video for the track was unveiled just the other day, and it's more than a little trippy.

Recently, Uzi's been traveling with The Weeknd for the "I Feel It Coming" singer's Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour in Europe. Just the other day, he used a tour date to perform his new track “XO Tour LIf3” for the first time. Seeing him perform the track, which he dropped back in February, should only make fans want his upcoming project, LUV is Rage 2, to come sooner.

Speaking with DJ Whoo Kid a little while back, Uzi said that he'd worked with Kanye West. About two weeks ago, Uzi said that his new album would actually feature a rock song.
