One thing you can count on in Upstate New York is the weather will never do what you expect it to. Case in point: all winter it was mild and rainy, and snowfall was well below average in the area. Fast forward to the first weekend of spring, and what do ya know - old man winter finally decides to show up in a big way!

Going into the weekend, the local forecast was calling for some big snowfall totals but mostly at higher elevations in the Adirondacks. For most of us in the Capital Region, this was going to be a minor annoyance with a few inches of snow with some slush and rain mixed in, no big deal!

Well, that changed quickly today with heavier bands of snow passing through the Capital Region - see some of the big snowfall totals below!
