On Wednesday January 17th, according to a post on a New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) social media page, at least 1 New York driver took a risk that put several lives in danger. Watch the frightening video below of a car smashing into a plow truck.

NYSDOT is asking all New York drivers to slow down and allow extra time to get to your destination. This applies to the recent snowstorms as well as any storms to follow. The risk is not worth the reward. You won't believe this video.

The snow is forecast to continue through Thursday. We'll keep fighting it to keep roads passable. As the weather clears and you venture out, watch for our trucks and equipment and give them plenty of space work. - NYSDOT

In this 10 second video you will see that this particular road was covered with snow as more continued to fall. The road appears to be a 2-lane road surrounded by woods. As the snowplow dashcam video captures a tractor-trailer in the oncoming lane as a smaller vehicle attempts to pass the truck. The smaller car was unsuccessful.

As you can see from the video, the driver of the smaller vehicle was not able to pass the tractor-trailer without crashing into the New York State DOT plow. As horrific as this video appears, the good news is that no one was harmed in this incident.
