On Saturday, members of Albany County Sheriff’s Office got more guns and drugs off of the street.

The Albany County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Green Island Police Department in reference to an assault that occurred in Albany County. Officers responded and executed a search warrant on the home where the assault occurred.

According to News 13, Apparently, 40-year-old Anthony Thompson, of Green Island, was involved in a domestic dispute with an unnamed victim. Police investigated the incident and executed a search warrant on his home.

During their search, officers were able to confiscate firearms and drugs. They found over seven pounds of marijuana, a large quantity of crack cocaine, MDMA, packaging materials, and two loaded handguns.

Mr. Thompson was charged with the following offenses:

Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fourth-degree (Felony); three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third-degree (Felony); two counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the second-degree (Misdemeanor); Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the second-degree (Felony); Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third-degree (Felony); Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fourth-degree (Felony); Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third-degree/Intent to Sell (Felony); Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the second-degree (Felony); Unlawful Imprisonment in the second-degree (Misdemeanor); Assault in the third-degree (Misdemeanor); Assault in the second- degree (Felony); and Strangulation in the second-degree (Felony).

Anthony Thompson appeared in the Town of Green Island Court and is now in custody at the Albany County Correctional Facility where he is awaiting trial.
