As the 2020-2021 school year ends here in Albany, many high school students are looking forward to the City of Albany Youth Employment Program (SYEP) for summertime jobs.

Young adults in the Albany area still have the potential to snatch up one of the summer jobs provided by the SYEP.  Registrations can be completed and submitted right now until Friday, March 31, at 4:00 p.m.

The employment program is open to all young people who reside in the City of Albany between the ages of 14-18 years old.

The first part of the program is called the SYEP-LIGHT program.  This portion of the program will provide a structured job readiness program for the children.  Once the student completes the initial phase of the program they will then move on to the paid portion of the program that will run from July 12 to August 13. Students will work a total of 20 hours per week and they will be paid $12.50 per hour.

If you are interested in taking advantage of the program, or if you know someone else who may be interested, apply by completing the online link.  Applicants will be chosen on a first come first serve basis, so get your application in now to be considered for a summer job.

Keep your kids off of the streets this summer and teach them the responsibility of making their own money.  This is a win/win for everyone involved.  For questions or for more information go to the website at SYEP@albanyny.gov or call 518-438-1082
