The Latham Circle Mall is due for a huge over-haul (duh!). I haven’t set foot in the dump for years. I assume all that’s left are stores selling samurai swords and Native American hand-crafted items. The plan, according to a story in the Times Union, is to re-launch as an “open-air shopping center” – much like Clifton Park Center.

According to the article, construction could begin before springtime. Lowes, JC Penney, and the Regal theatre are expected to remain.

The new stores and layout should be a huge morale boost for Latham residents. Grocery stores, entertainment shops and restaurants are all a part of the plan.
