There is an excitement in the air of the Capital Region as the HBO series 'The Gilded Age' brings Hollywood to your hometown. According to Townsquare Media, the second season of this period piece, starring Christine Baranski, Cynthia Nixon and others, have been filming in Albany, Cohoes and Troy for much of the month of August.

I took a ride to Troy on Sunday to see if there were any lights, cameras or action. What I found was movie magic. Sections of Troy have been transformed from 2022 back to the 1800's. When I got to Troy Sunday afternoon it didn't take much time to find 2 separate filming locations for The Gilded Age Season 2. A quick walk through downtown I stumbled upon production trucks and crew members painting props and turning the blacktop of River Street into a cobblestone road.

As I looked around more I realized that places such as No Fun and Curated Phases were gone! Well, they are still there but for a day or so, one has been turned into Donoghue House while the other will become Dewees Brothers Clothier. Does this business look familiar?

As you look through the pictures below you will see a bank turned into a bridal shop and a travel agency become an insurance agency. Even Troy Music Hall is being dressed up with red, white and blue bunting and 2nd Street is now cobblestone.
