Teen Killed In Cohoes Crash Others Injured

Another person hit and killed in Cohoes at the busy and dangerous intersection of 787. Teenager Brandon Sylvester, 17, was killed crossing 787 with a group of other teens. Three other teens were hit as well, according to police. This intersection is very dangerous and there needs to be something done about this. Every year there are multiple car accidents involving pedestrian's crossing the very busy and dangerous 787 intersection. Kids cross to go to school, people cross to go to work and use the bus which stops on the other side of the intersection. NY state recently put up mediums in that area and the speed limit changes from coming off the highway, but that still is not enough.

My uncle lost his girlfriend back in 2014 at that very same intersection, Miss Nyla was hit by a car on her way to work during a snowstorm early morning on December 11th. I remember it being some talks about changing up the bus stop locations and speed limits and adding more lights after her passing. I honestly think that they need to put an overpass that allows people to walk over the intersection instead of walking right across the busy road. NY State spends a bunch of unnecessary money for things we question all the time , they need to start putting money into things that can prevent such dangerous and deadly accidents.

My condolences goes out to the family and friends and those affected by the sudden passing of Brandon Syvester and the injured teens as well.
