Green Island Couple Arrested For Endangering Children At Daycare

A parent's worst nightmare has come true for parents at a Green Island daycare. The operators of the daycare, a couple from Green Island, have both been arrested for endangering the welfare of children at the daycare.

According to News 10, the couple, 50-year old Anna Pratt and her boyfriend, 49-year old John Ferrera were arrested for predatory sexual assault against a child and endangering the welfare of a child.

Officers with the Albany County Sheriff’s Office arrested the couple with allegations of sexually and physically assaulting children at the daycare.

Ms. Pratt was the owner and operator of the daycare and her boyfriend, Mr. Ferrara was in close contact with the children while they were being cared for at her daycare.

The couple was being investigated by the Sheriff's Department. Law-enforcement officers believe that Mr. Ferrara committed sexual acts with a child over a period of time. They also found that Ferrara physically assaulted a child at the daycare.

Anna Pratt was arrested and charged with one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child which is a class A Misdemeanor. She was arraigned at the Town of Green Island Court and released on her own recognizance.

John Ferrara was arrested and charged with two counts of Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child which is a class A Felony; one count of third-degree Assault which is a class A Misdemeanor, and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child which is a class A Misdemeanor. He was arraigned at the Town of Green Island Court and remains in custody without bail.
