In a response to the recent violence, the Guardian Angels would like to come to Albany to patrol neighborhoods. If you aren't familiar with the the The Guardian Angels, they are a non-profit international volunteer organization of unarmed crime-prevention vigilantes.

The Guardian Angels organization was founded February 13, 1979, in New York City by Curtis Sliwa and has more than 130 chapters around the world. WNYT reports:

The founder of the New York City-based Guardian Angels says he'll head upstate with members of his neighborhood patrol group to help Albany residents quell a recent spate of gun violence.

Curtis Sliwa says several Albany residents emailed the group seeking its assistance after 13 people were shot in the city over a six-day period last week. The victims included a 32-year-old man who was fatally shot while trying to break up a fight involving girls.

Do you think it is a good idea for people who aren't from Albany or even the community to patrol the streets vigilante style? Sure, they are unarmed, but is it good to have them on the streets? With all the recent violence I can see people wanting something to change, but I am not sure this is the right change for Albany right this minute.
