Rutgers men’s basketball coach Mike Rice was fired this week after video footage was released, showing Rice verbally and physically abusing his players. It seems abusive coaches exist on all levels as a local coach has been suspended indefinitely for similar accusations.

Shen lacrosse coach, Chuck Holohan has been accused of verbal and physical abuse. Assistant coach, Jason Gifford, will take Holohan’s place during the investigation.

In the case of the, now former, Rutgers head coach, Rice was seen yelling homophobic slurs, throwing basketballs at players’ heads, kicking players, grabbing them and shoving them.

After seeing the video, the school’s Athletic Director fined Rice $50,000 and suspended him for three games. After the appalling video footage was released to the public, the school was pretty much forced into relieving Rice of his duties.

We’ll keep you posted with any further information about Holohan.
