Fears of what a Trump presidency will mean for minority groups motivated a rally at Albany’s Townsend Park.

According to Time Warner Cable News, hundreds of people participated this Saturday:

It was a counter protest to a Ku Klux Klan rally planned for Saturday in North Carolina.

“A victory rally for Trump and we want to show that an awful lot of Americans don’t feel that way,” said Joe Lombardo, one of the rally organizers.

Participants marched along Central Avenue from Townsend Park to Dana Park, many holding signs and chanting along the way.

Albany Mayor was in attendance here is what she had to say:

Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan, who praised her city's tolerance of Muslims, the LGBT and other disenfranchised minority groups before turning her attention to Trump's now-infamous tape of him bragging about grabbing women by the genitals.

"I am not an object," said Sheehan, Albany's first woman mayor. "I am not someone you can just grope."

There weren't many minorities in attendance from looking at the video. Is the fear of racism on the rise in the Capital Region or is this all part of a made up national media frenzy?

Donald Trump often complains about the way he is vilified through the media but he often makes offensive comments on his twitter page. I think the the concern is valid but nothing makes racist people hide their racism faster than being accused of being racist.
