New Club Houses For Teens Battling Addiction

Fundraising for young teens, adults battling addiction: So there’s a going to be grant funding these are going to be called clubhouses and this is really going to be a great thing that we need because there’s a LOT of young people in the throes of addiction. This will be for all of Upstate New York Central New York.

The four clubhouse grant winners are:

Oswego County Opportunities-$250K
Southern Tier: Trinity of Chemung County-$250K
North Country: Seaway Valley Prevention Council & Capital Region: Mental Health Association of Columbia/Greene Counties-$250K.

The clubhouses will be using evidence-based prevention tactics to help these young people with their addictions. They’re going to help them develop social skills to promote a healthy lifestyle a drug-free life pretty much which is a better alternative than falling back into your addiction.

People that don’t have addiction experience can help these young people with their addiction and help lead an addiction free lifestyle. This isn’t just for people with drug addiction it’s also for people with alcoholism also basically any young person with a drug problem or any substance abuse problem can go to these clubhouses that are a great resource for them so now they have somewhere to go because rehab doesn’t really help this actually will help these young people have a complete drug-free & substance abuse free life. These programs will go into effect January 2017.
