Some of the best in Hip Hop, R&B & Reggae set to make their way to the Capital District this summer!

Every summer, there are a number of free events that the New York State Department of General Services put on throughout the season that you should be fully aware of.

Bursting onto the scene in the late 90's, R&B singer, songwriter, producer and actress Mya is this year's headliner for the annual Black Arts and Cultural Festival. being held on Saturday, August 3rd from 2pm to 7pm. She's made hits such as "It's All About Me" featuring Sisqo of Dru Hull, "Best of Me" (both the original featuring Jadakiss and the more party-friendly remix with Jay-Z), and "Case of the Ex".

Reggae royalty Stephen Marley is scheduled to hit the Capital Concert Series stage on Wednesday, July 24th from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. Stephen Marley is the son of Reggae great Bob Marley.

Last but definitely not least, Grammy award-winning Hip Hop pioneers and icons Salt-N-Pepa will bless the stage on Wednesday, August 14th to do their thing. They are the first female Hip Hop acts to have their album go gold and eventually platinum for their debut album, Hot, Cool & Vicious. They are also the first female Rap group to earn a Grammy in 1995. This concert will also run from 5:30pm to 8:30pm
