Will Ferrell’s character Ricky Bobby said it best in the movie Talladega Nights – “I wanna go fast!” It seems Nikkolaus McCarthy from Charlton has a lot in common with Ricky. Dude was caught riding his motorcycle at face-peeling speeds of 170 MPH.

McCarthy left several troopers in the dust before being caught in New Paltz. He traveled 50 miles in 20 minutes. Most NASCAR drivers would be jealous of this dude’s pace.

After being caught, he explained to police that his bike could easily scorch the 190 MPH mark so the “slow” speed of 170 was perfectly safe. The average car speed in a professional race, by the way, is between 170 and 200. The key word in that phrase is “car”. McCarthy was on a BIKE. If he caught a stone or pothole wrong McCarthy’s body and innards would be reduced to Thruway paint.

McCarthy was charged with fleeing police, reckless driving, speeding, operating out of class, and imitating Vin Diesel. Ok, maybe I made that last part up.

Way to make me look bad bro, I feel bad ass when I take my civic over 80.
