Local comedians will share the spotlight and take turns roasting disgraced former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo later this month in Albany.

The event, simply titled "The Roast of Andrew Cuomo" will be taking place at Albany's Madison Theatre on Saturday night September 11th at 930 pm, with proceeds going to a charity that will benefit an anti-sexual violence organization.

According to a Facebook post by Comedy Albany, for $15, you can "watch as some of the best comics in Albany bring your favorite and least favorite politicians to life and give Governor touchy the verbal nipple ring twist he deserves."

The organizers of the event say that proceeds will benefit RAINN, Rape Abuse, and Incest National Network.

The much-maligned former King of New York resigned last month as Governor following a slew of credible sexual harassment allegations that overshadowed denial and crippled any chance of defense.

"My instinct is to fight through this controversy. The best way I can help now is to step aside and let the government get back to governing," Cuomo said on the day he resigned from office.

For the better part of two years, those who vehemently opposed his politics took endless shots at him, and eventually, even his most staunch supporters couldn't back the man they once loved once he was covered in controversy.

This "Roast of Andrew Cuomo" will no doubt be a form of therapy for some, and pure entertainment for others, while rape, abuse, and incest victims will stand to benefit the most.
