Lil Wayne has been largely absent in the rap game despite releasing his 'I Am Not a Human Being II' album in March. Weezy noticed this too... and he's sorry.

The Young Money leader went on Twitter Saturday (Aug. 24) and wrote an apologetic tweet to his fans for not being visible in the music game.

Wayne tweeted, "Noticed I wasn't nominated nor involved n da MTV VMA's nor da BET awards...I apologize to my fans and I promise 2 work harder if it kills me."

Come to think of it, Wayne didn't get nominated for any of his songs or videos for the 2013 BET Hip-Hop Awards either. Whoa!

However, in Wayne's defense, it's been a tough year for him. Since earlier this year, Wayne has been dealing with health issues related to his episodic seizures. That alone can slow anyone down, especially an artist who does a lot of traveling and performing.

In July, Wayne was able to get out on the road for his America's Most Wanted tour, which wraps up Sept. 2 in Phoenix, Ariz.

But it looks like Wayne is going to make up for his lackluster year. The 'How to Love' rapper will drop his new mixtape, 'Dedication 5,' on Aug. 30. This will be Wayne's fifth installment of his popular mixtape series with DJ Drama hosting the project.

Wayne also posted the animated cover art for 'Dedication 5.' Check it out below.
