According to some new info gas prices are bit down around the Capital Region, but many are still feeling the pain at the pump.

If there are two things that we have to spend money on no matter what it is gas and groceries. Well, maybe you can skip gas if you live in an area with access to public transportation, but for most of the Capital Region gas money is something we all have to account for.

For some reason this summer I am really feeling the pinch when it comes to gas spending. Maybe it's because I am doing more driving with various activities, but it has 100% driven my spending up he last few months. So have gas prices gone up?

No, and as a matter of fact it appears that they are down. A new report from WTEN says on average our area is paying 3 cents less per gallon.

That's all according to Gas Buddy. From their latest stats here are the top 5 cheapest gas stations in the Capital Region as of right now.

It looks like we're below $3.30 a gallon at a majority of Capital Region gas stations, which is a good thing. It is a promising look at potential gas prices as we head into the tail end of summer. I will say that many of these places with the price point lower than $3.30 appear to be places you are required a membership card at or it is the cash price.

Many of us are still paying with a debit or credit card and that is going to see the price raise up by about 10 cents. So yes, it's down but also still right about where it was.
