The Original God MC gets the Heat Wave treatment!

As a culture, Hip Hop needs to celebrate our greats more. I definitely am guilty of it sometimes as well. The rap stars that came before the current generation need to get their just due for laying the groundwork for what rappers stand on today. One of those rappers that should always be celebrated is Rakim Allah.

If you like anyone who rapped with any type of actual lyricism within the last 30 years, you can thank Rakim. No one put words together the way he did before him. He truly changed the game.

I put together a quick mix for the original God MC on his birthday. that was 1/2 of a set on the Heat Wave. He's also going to be headlining the I Love Hip Hop Music Festival show at the Proctors Theater in Schenectady, NY on Friday, March 11th, 2016 along with Kool G Rap, Brand Nubian, Nice & Smooth & Lil' Mo!
