High School students if you are looking for a summer job Albany light has you covered. This is vital information about registration sessions that are mandatory to get a job this summer.

Albany LIGHT (Learning, Initiative and Gaining Headway Together) Program will run from Monday, July 8TH THROUGH Friday, August 9th, 2019, five days a week. This program is for students attending middle or high school ages 14-18 (on or before March 30th) who are residing in the City of Albany.

Students must attend a registration session!

Apps will not be accepted after March 30th, 2019. Assignment letters will be mailed to enrolled youth employees on June 24, 2019.

Registration days are as follows:

· 3/13/19 Giffen Elementary School, South Pearl Street, 4-7 p.m. (Wednesday)

· 3/20/19 Albany High School, 700 Washington Avenue, 4-7 p.m. (Wednesday)

· 3/23/19 TOAST, 94 Delaware Avenue, 9-12p.m. (Saturday)

· 3/30/19 Bleecker Stadium, 721 Clinton Avenue, 9-12 p.m. (Saturday)

The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), which offers jobs to over a 1,000 14- to 18-year olds, is one of the most important programs in Albany, giving many young people their first paycheck and positive work experience. It’s important work for important people, the youth of Albany.

Volunteers are needed during the SYEP registration process, which is always a busy time. They are needed to make the sign-up process go smoothly. Please contact us via email at syep@albanyny.gov or call our Bleecker Office at 518-438-1082 with the dates you can volunteer!

There are also have summer jobs available for the public (Lifeguards, Rangers, maintenance, Spray Pad attendees, Roller Skating, Summer camp directors, Camp counselors, Coaches) starting in June (taking applications now) at The Department of Recreation.
