Cardi's song becomes number one on the Billboard charts

It’s true! Cardi B has made history with her summer hit “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)”. She has become the second female rap artist to have her song reach number one on the Billboard charts. Lauryn Hill was the first in history with her single “Doo Wop (That Thing).” Cardi is also the first female artist to have her debut single reach the number one spot. Her debut album was set to release in October, but was pushed back due to the success of “Bodak Yellow”.

During her interview on The Breakfast Club, she spoke about the pressure she placed on herself of the album not living up to the success of the single. J.
