UPDATE:
It appears that Bobby Shmurda and his GS9 crew are expected to be indicted on undisclosed charges involving gang-related shootings and drug trafficking in New York.

Kati Cornell, director of public information in the office of the city's special narcotics prosecutor, confirmed to Wondering Sound that Shmurda's arrest was part of a long-term sting operation conducted by the NYPD. Charges will be filed Thursday (Dec. 18).

“These arrests were the result of a long-term investigation,” she said. “The investigation did involve a number of violent incidents as well as narcotics trafficking."

Shmurda was under surveillance by police at the time of his arrest at Quad Studios in New York. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Manhattan Supreme Court on Thursday (Dec 18).

ORIGINAL STORY:

There's no question that Bobby Shmurda had a phenomenal year with his hit single, ‘Hot N----.’ But all of his success is clouded by the news that he and his GS9 crew were arrested at Quad Studios in New York on Wednesday morning (Dec. 17).

Information is scarce, but according to Karen Civil, the 20-year-old Brooklyn rapper and his crew were taken into custody after police seized 20 guns at the recording studio. Epic Records executive Sha Money XL, who signed Shmurda, was also arrested during the incident.

If this story is true, this doesn’t bode well for Shmurda. The 'Bobby Bitch' rapper, whose real name is Ackquille Pollard, was busted on a felony gun possession charge in June, and was also arrested for weed possession in October.

New York City has the toughest gun laws in the nation and this latest run-in with police could send Shmurda to prison.

The story is still developing so keep it locked to The Boombox for further updates.
