It looks like being quarantined for so long is making people crazy. Just because we’re in the middle of a pandemic, it doesn’t mean you can get away with dumb stuff. You would think that someone 40 years old would know better. Apparently not!

According to CBS 6, A 40-year-old man was arrested in Amsterdam, for allegedly using a large mask to hide his identity while he committed crimes. The police say that Frank Lamalf of Gloversville used our current situation with COVID-19 by wearing a large surgical mask to hide his face while he committed larcenies.

Amsterdam police were investigating multiple larcenies last week when they began to suspect Mr. Lamalf. Their investigation revealed that there was a vehicle seen on security footage that was used during the incidents. Police were then able to follow the suspect while he was allegedly driving the car that was involved in the incidents on the surveillance video.

This is not the first time that Mr. Lamalf was arrested. He was arrested for burglary in Niskayuna in 2013 after police received a call regarding a suspicious subject. Residents in the area were on alert because there were four burglaries and one attempted burglary all reported in one week.

Frank Lamalf is currently charged with misdemeanor petit larceny two counts and one count of third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Police released him, but he has to return at a later date to Amsterdam City Court. Maybe someone else can learn from Mr. Lamalf, don’t think you can get away with doing crazy stuff, you’re not gonna get away with it. The police are still paying attention.
