The Capital Region received the first significant snowfall of the year. Shoveling and clearing parking spots comes along with any significant snowfall. This time, a dispute over a cleared parking space got a local couple in big trouble.

When keeping it real goes wrong. According to News 10, Officers with the Albany Police Department report that they responded to the area of Orange Avenue on December 17 around 6:30 p.m. for a dispute in a parking lot.

An unidentified woman reported that she had cleared a parking space and later became involved in an argument with a man over the cleared space.

The argument escalated and the woman reports that the man’s girlfriend then became involved in the incident. The girlfriend, later identified as Khriston Thompson, took the incident to another level and punched the unidentified woman in the face.

The victim says that the man, later identified as Uton Rowe, assaulted her by kicking her in the chest. The victim also says that Mr. Rowe displayed a handgun during the incident.

Through their investigation, members of the Albany Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit discovered the handgun involved in the incident, along with several other guns. They recovered a revolver, a 12 gauge shotgun, a 45 caliber revolver, a 40 caliber handgun, a 357 magnum revolver, a 38 caliber revolver, and a 9 mm handgun.

Officers took both Mr. Rowe and Ms. Thompson into custody.

Ms. Thompson was charged with Assault. Mr. Rowe was charged with Assault, Menacing and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.
