SPLITSVILLE! Kid Cudi No Longer A G.O.O.D. Music Artist

Uh-oh, somebody grab the Haagen-Dazs! Kid Cudi and G.O.O.D. Music are breaking up. According the Cudi, although he appeared on G.O.O.D. Music’s “Cruel Summer” compilation album, he’s been riding without the clique for about 6 months.

So what’s next for the Day and Night rapper? “I kind of knew where I wanted to go.” Much like any break-up, Cudi referred to his peers for advice on how to break the news to Kanye. “I went through a process where I talked to Don C and then I went and talked to Jay-Z. I got their opinions about how to approach things that I wanted to talk to him about. Everybody gave me their blessings on how I was approaching it.”

The split seems to be amicable. In regards to Kanye – “That’s my big brother like forever. I’ll smack the dog piss out of somebody for Kanye, man.”

Cudi’s new album, Indicud is set for release on April 23rd.

Cudi isn’t the first member to leave the group. He joins a list of defectors including Common, Consequence, Sa-Ra and Tony Williams. The current G.O.O.D. Music line-up consists of John Legend, Malik Yusef, Big Sean, Mr. Hudson, CyHi The Prynce, Mos Def, Pusha T, Q-Tip, Teyana Taylor and Travi$ Scott among others.
