DJ Supreme here is a Hot Topic for you
I have been married to my wife for 5 years we have been together for a total of 9 years.  I'm a hard worker by nature and I just recently received an opportunity in another position with the same company working the 3rd shift.  It's based upon seniority I know when I get off and I know when I come into work vs being bounced all around.

The issue is that I'm on 3rd shift not my ideal shift, my wife is complaining about it, I have the whole day to do whatever, kids school activities, kids sports, Dr appts, I even have time to go back to school.

I'm tired of her throwing jabs and threats about this 3rd shift I'm not running the streets, I'm at work.  2 hours of me is at work guessing who is at home sleeping with her and the kids so do I stay on 3rd shift or do I go back to my old position where I have an inconsistent schedule don't know when I'm coming or going?

DJ Supreme's Response

When it comes to working and family balance a lot of people run into trouble trying to balance work and family. This can be a slippery slope when it comes to marriage because a partner is demanding time. This seems like a temporary thing so I would just explain the pros of the new shift to your wife.

It seems like the new shift gives you more free time and it sounds way more structured than what you are currently doing. I didn't see whether you clarified whether your wife works or not?  It doesn't sound like she works so she really doesn't have a choice in the matter. It's nice to be considerate of your significant other but I'm sure your wife would definitely leave you if you didn't have a job. She should be able to see the bright side which food on the dinner table and agree to the new schedule.

What do you think he should do we will discuss the Hot Topic this afternoon on the Hot 991 app listen live to comment.  If you have something you would like to be a Hot Topic send an email to djsupreme@hot991.com
