County Waste has partnered with us to honor those in our communities who are truly making a difference.

All throughout 2016, we will be recognizing one “hero” per month based on their inspirational feats, work helping their neighbors and everyday passion.

This month we honor Ryan Gilooly, an Assistant Basketball Coach and Statistician in Wynantskill, NY. Ryan loves to stay active in his community by involving himself in various sports teams, as well as performing volunteer work.

Gilooly, despite coping with CP, contributes highly to a local high school and CYO program by assisting coaches and young athletes. He also sets a positive example for these kids day in and day out, and inspires them to achieve success both on and off the court.

"I think if you have passion, enthusiasm, and knowledge for what you're doing, it can more than make up for whatever lack of ability you might have" Gilooly says on playing an active role in the community. Ryan Gilooly is such an inspiration and guidepost to the members of Wynantskill.

Learn more about Ryan Gilooly through an interview we did with him in the video below, and click here to see how you can nominate a hero next month, when we’re honoring a local person in the Air Force.
