The work started Monday and will continue through March 7.

What roads will be closed during the demolition?

Exchange Street from Russell Road to Everett Road will be closed for the demolition of the former Tobin’s First Prize plant according to News Channel 13.

Once it's torn down, builders hope that the area will become a more functional neighborhood, featuring residential living, retail, recreational, and commercial space sometime in the next year or so according to the source.

Back in November, GNA published some unbelievable photos inside this decaying, abandoned building before it was set for demolition.

The Tobin's First Prize Center on Exchange Street in Albany is quite the eyesore for locals who see it on a regular basis, but for adventurous YouTuber's, the old meatpacking warehouse is a destination for those who like to explore the abandoned.

Recently, a group of teenagers made the trek inside the decaying building to film some content for their YouTube channel while it's still here, and what they found was as creepy as it was curious.

What they found

Once inside the old warehouse abandoned in the 1980s, they found the kinds of things you'd ordinarily see; moldy walls chipped ceilings, graffiti, tattered furniture, and broken beams. But they also found that the old Tobin's First Prize Center is littered with hundreds of checks, piles of cassette tapes and old VHS movies, and literally thousands and thousands of children's toys.

But why?

It's unclear who these toys were for and how long they've been sitting in there but like the rest of the building, they're just wasting away. Here's a peek at the peculiar recent findings of the soon-to-be-demolished Tobin's Center in Albany.
